Bring baby Madison Sarah back home

Hello to all my family and friends!

I am Lilibeth Flores Cruz, writing on behalf of my sister’s daughter, Eliza, who just gave birth to Madison, a 24-week old premature baby last January 15. Madison is in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of St. Lukes Medical Center-Global City in Taguig Philippines, she is expected to stay for at least 3 more months until she is fully developed.

The newly wed couple Eliza and Kar, were traveling from Canada to visit relatives in the Philippines and Hong Kong, not knowing that their 3rd day of stay in Manila would happen this way.

Their newborn baby named Madison, weighs only 570 grams, which is just over 1 pound. her eyes are still fused shut, she’s so fragile that she needs monitors, oxygen and blood transfusions to keep thriving.

The parents never had the chance to cuddle or gently caress their precious little princess after she was born which most parents dream of. The couple is grossly affected by this predicament.

One of their pressing concerns aside from the baby’s condition is the excessive high bills of baby Madison’s hospitalization that’s continuously counting. Presently it’s $12,000-$15,000 CDN per week. The cost varies depending on the medication or antibiotics she’s being administered, diapers used, syringes, monitors she’s hooked up to, etc. Everything is tallied, there is no healthcare like OHIP, since it’s a private hospital. Madison must also remain in the hospital for 3/4 months and cannot come back to Canada till she’s full term. Unfortunately the travel/medical insurance that they bought for the trip denied them financial support for their baby‘s expenses.

Being the aunt of the mother, I am making a plea to all of you to please support baby Madison’s critical case.
