BRAVE HEARTED PANCAKE

A few months ago I went to a small family farm to look at possibly taking home one of their new puppies. I spotted a tini-tiny baby Chihuahua the tiniest one of the litter, the runt. He was a perfect pup for me. I named him “pancake” I babyed like he was my own child. At 9 months now he has become a very important member of my family. He’s become a pampered baby that believes hes a giant viscous dog that will attach anyone apposing any harm. Other then his ginormus egohe’s still my liL’ Man. He sits  on my feet and whines, loves my kisses on top of his head, always the first to greet me, he always wants to be held, and especially craves attention.

one day I reached down to pick him up and he immediately began to cry I also saw that he began to hold one his right-hind leg when walking. At first we thought he was faking so he would get more attention but then he kept on for days, weeks, and now months.   I made an appointment at the vetinary clinic up the street. The vet looked him over and took x-rays. While I was Anticipating for results I was Terrified and worried about what it could be, what if it’s deadly just so many scary thoughts. Finally the vet came out and carefully explained to me that pancake has been in a lot of pain due to hind-leg was barely attached to his hip- joint, she diagnosed him with Hip-Dysplasia and was temporarily prescribed pain medication for only a few days, even after taking a dose he was back to his goofy ball personality once the pain had went a away.

 Unfortunately Pint- Sized Pups  like Pancake Inherit Their Families’ Dreadful Curse, the Painful Medical Condition Known as Hip Dysplasia. Hip Dysplasia Is an Genetic Condition Resulting from an Unfittingly Fashioned Hip Joint triggering The Joint to become Loose, and since the small youngsters are typically more energetic and bouncy the Dog’s Leg Bone Moves Around Too Much, Causing Painful Wear And Tear on their miniscule muscles and joints causing weak muscles and loose joints. Along With  Stiffness And Soreness In Their Tiny Hips When Getting Up, Difficultly Climbing Up And Down Stairs, Jumping Into Bed, walk on 3 instead of 4 to Avoiding Using Hind Leg. Hip dysplasia commonly affects larger breeds of dogs, including German shepherds, Rottweiler’s, Retrievers, Great Danes and St. Bernard’s. But Unfortunately Some Little Guys like Pancake may get wrong end of the stick. Dysplasia begins to develop in puppies of five months old and worsen as they age—or not show up at all until a dog has reached geriatric years. In many cases, though, the condition becomes visible in dogs in their middle or later years.

When a veterinarian identifies this condition in small breeds they highly suggest to surgically correct the matter as soon as possible.  There are several other surgical options, including a complete hip replacement. Joint-supplements and anti-inflammatories can be used as a temporay method of relif but once worn off the lil guy will continue to feel miserable. Due to the small size of the pup the surgery becomes extremely risky, which then of course clinics jacks the price extremely sky high making an owner think twice about proceeding with treatment.
