I am trying to raise money for my daughter Jardine(who we all call Jade) who is brain damaged through Limbic Encephalitis and homeless through no fault of her own.She has Two sons (my grandsons) Brandon who is 19 and in the army, and Little Aunre who is 12 and in a local school.Jade was born in London but the last two to three years she has been living with her partner in Newcastle.Last year in January she woke up with a very bad headache but also not knowing where she was or who the people around her were. Her then partener called an ambulance and she was rushed to hospital, she had contracted Limbic Encephalitis and spent two months in the Royal Victoria infirmary Newcastle after which she was discharged but with brain damage caused by the disease, which left her with cognitive dificulties and a very short memory span, typically five to ten minutes. Her partner then found he could not cope with Jades disabillity in July last year, he took her and my grandson down to her best friend and left her there, with her and her four children.Jade put Aunre in a local school in Chorely where he settled in nicely and is doing very well. She also transfered to a GP in the Chorely as of course she needs continuing health care and will for the rest of her life.
Just over two months ago Jade had to leave her friends home as there was a combination of problems she was going through.Jade has since then been as they say 'sofa surfing' between us and her friends. She misses her son terribly and we are now very concerned about her as she gets very depressed. We have tried every which way to get Chorley council to help her and her children to get rehoused but the housing people say she is not thier responsibility so we desperately need funds to get her and her children into rented accomodation there and get the stuff she needs for a flat or house. Her mum and I are both pensioners and have limited funds so we're in desperate need of help for our little girl. Please anything you can give will be really appreciated.

I wondered if I should post this as I know Jade would hate it,but this is what the steroids she has been given to combat the disease has done to her. She' always been a very fit young woman who thought nothing of running five or six miles a day and

  • This is such a heartbreaking story and my thoughts are with you all. I hope you raise the much needed money for the girl that looks and doesnt enjoy life like the Jade i knew. I hope she dont remember what a stunner she was cus she would be mortified if realised the weight she has put on through medication. Being seperated from ENREE is a tragedy to someone who was such a great mother and sofa surfing so degrading for her. The system stinks when someone whose lost her home through no fault of her own is a cast aside in such a way! I hope with all my heart you raise enough cash to get her set up in a modest home she can call her own, near her sons school and get her son back soon. Xx
