Campaign Story
My pet dog Katie was rammed on her face by an oncoming cyclist on 3 Jan 2021 around 7pm. Katie yelped in pain and whined persistently after the impact. Katie was also bleeding profusely from her mouth and was shivering due to the shock. I then brought her to a vet immediately for treatment and was told after an x-ray that her jaw had been fractured; in the photo added, you can notice that her jaw line is askew. Katie is currently having trouble eating and drinking water as she does not seem to be biting properly and keeps drooling due to her jaw motion.
My costs for the initial treatment at the vet was SGD $367.53 (picture of bill is attached) and I was told that a jaw reparative surgery costs approximately $3,800. The funds from this fundraiser will be used to cover the cost of the vet consultation and jaw surgery only.
I have had Katie since she was 2 months old, she is now 9 years old and a part of my immediate family. I am devastated by her injury and worry if she can be back to be cheerful active self. Despite Katie's age, she is very energetic, friendly, and loving. People always tell me that Katie does not behave her age and this makes me very proud to have her by my side. Katie is a curious and attention seeking dog who just loves going up to someone and giving all her love to get belly rubs.
I am appreciative of any help rendered to offset my veterinary costs which will seriously impact my livelihood. I love Katie with all my heart.
Thank you for reading my fundraiser and for your help.
