Campaign Story
On March 9th, 2019, a wonderful young man was shot in a store parking lot in the middle of the afternoon in an armed robbery. We don’t know who shot him. All we know is that a child, a friend, a former student, a young church pastor is now struggling to recover from very serious internal injuries far from home and that he and his family need help in covering the costs of what is going to be a long healing and recovery process. When his parents got the news, they drove all night, hundreds of miles to reach the hospital, to hope to see him, to hope he would know that they were there. Seven surgeries later, he is still struggling to heal and his family’s world is upside-down. They are surrounded by love and prayers and words of support, but, though the value of these gifts cannot be measured, there are and will be bills. Ryan’s father is self-employed as a CPA, so being away, especially at this time of year, is taking a huge toll. Ryan is a graduate of Pineville High School, NSU’s Louisiana Scholars’ College, and a student in Duke’s Divinity School (yes, he went from being a Rebel to being a Demon to being a Blue Devil!). Throughout his short life, Ryan has always helped others. Right now, he and his family need your help. I created this fundraiser to help the family and help a former student whom I hold very dear. Thank you for reading this. Thank you for caring. Thank you for helping in whatever way you can.
