My cat (Elmo) had a fall from a height on 15th March 2018. We brought him to a Veterinary Emergency & Speciality Hospital. He had a right forelimb open radial fracture and spinal injury with mild withdrawal on his hind legs and diagnose as a polytrauma case. He stayed in the hospital for 6 days after which we decide to get him discharge first as we had a very tight financial constraint for his operation and hospitalization cost for 6 days stayed amounting up to $2k upon discharged. The vet require my cat to go for a CT Scan for his spinal injury which cost around $1.7k and surgical reduction on the right front leg that need to be done due to open fracture as soon as possible which might lead to severe complication like septicemia. The hospital quoted an estimation of $6k-$7k with likely a 10 days stay in hospital unfortunately the hospital unable to do installments payment for the operations. Currently my cat is at home and we did the nursing care for his urination and defecating on a pee pad, feeding him etc. His bandage for his open fracture have to be change every 2 days with our regular vet which cost up to $30-$50 for every visit. He has to be on pain relief (Meloxicam Oral Solution) once a day and antibiotic (Curam) twice a day for his wound and pain. On 23rd March 2018 brought him to a vet for change of bandage and discovered that the open fracture had pus and needed an immediate attention to decide either surgery or amputate his fracture leg. We brought him again on the 25th March for a change of bandage again the pus is under control at the moment but which if let it for long might cause fatal for him. We really want him to recover and be able to walk again but we are really in very tight financial situation as we did enquiry around and most of the vet unable to do installments which lead us to try and have a crowdfunding if anybody out there is kind enough to help us out in whatever amount. Your kindness and help is greatly appreciated as we need to get him go for an operation as soon as possible. We will try and update every now and then of his progress. Currently he is bed ridden but eating well, no problem with urinating and defecating, taking his medicine regularly and he is trying his best to move his body and legs. I can say he is indeed a very strong cat.
