Campaign Story
In April 2016 Corine Brooksbank started to have an odd tingling feeling in her arms, in August 2016 she was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Now in August 2017 Corine can not walk, move her arms, and is struggling to talk. Corine now needs 24/7/365 care. Corine's husband of 35 years Gary - who has known Corine since he was 7 years old, has now had to take early retirement to become Corine's full time carer. Nathan Corine's and Gary's only son has left his home of 11 years. and his job in Sweden to help care for his mum.
Corine has worked for Yorkshire Water, Loop, FMG Support and more recently Yorkshire Building Society as a Project Manager. Corine loved to dance, going out with her friends and socialising, to travel and lived life to the full.
Motor Neurone Disease is a terminal illness, we want to raise money to make Corine's life that bit easier and give her some dignity . Currently she sleeps upstairs on a normal bed and does not have the specialist shower facilities needed. It now takes both Nathan and Gary to help get Corine to bed and in to the bath. We want to raise money to help convert the garage to a downstairs bedroom and wet room and to make the house more accessible for a wheel chair.
This is a terrible disease and has had a devastating impact to Corine and her family, please donate to help improve Corine's quality of life and to help give support to Gary and Nathan.

Thank you to every one for their kind words, I know Corine read them all and she was deeply touched by them and by every one's generosity.

I worked briefly with Corine at YBS, she's such a lovely person. I was really saddened to hear this. Good luck with the fundraising.
