I am a mother of three strong-minded girls. And it’s killing me to have to ask for help, but for my family, it’s time to.

I am trying to change our lives by attending the community college Medical Assistant courses so I can earn a degree and earn a real living. I’d like to be able to have a steady paycheck, to be able to buy myself a pair of shoes, to stop wishing for things to turn around and to make them happen. I want to have control over our future and I want to be held accountable for our situation. I’d like to be able to own a vehicle to take us to appointments, to get them into extracurricular activities, to go grocery shopping with our earned money. I want to earn the money for those things. Myself. I don’t want to rely on others and I don’t want to continue to wait on empty promises.

And to be able to do that I need to be able to finish my courses. Unfortunately, the support I had when I started classes is no longer a viable option and unless I can come up with the money myself, I must stop the courses. And we’ll be back to where we’ve been. I’ve listened to others’ promises for more than 20 years and we can no longer wait on empty promises. I want to show the girls that they don’t need to be afraid of change, but can change situations and redirect their own lives into what they want them to be.

I am unable to work outside of the home at my original profession due to health issues and past surgeries. My oldest daughter also has disabilities that prevented her from obtaining employment, even from finishing school. My middle daughter is preparing to graduate from high school and I want both of their futures to be brighter than it is now. My youngest, I’d like her to be able to go to activities or to even have clothes that are new. And I want to drastically change her present and future livelihood.

Recently we have had tragedy after tragedy in our lives, and I don’t want to wait for the next one to happen. I know there are so many other people more needed than us, and we are lucky for what we have. We have an amazing support system of friends and family, which is helping to keep us warm this holiday season. I keep hope and love in our house to keep us determined and laughing, and I want to be able to give them more. For my upcoming birthday and the holidays, all I want is to be able to give them a better future. Any consideration of a donation is far more appreciated than you could ever know. I would love to have the power to repay everyone even the time you took to read this.

Thank you, it's overwhelming me!

So, last Sunday I started a campaign to help me fund my education. It was an extremely difficult decision to do, and extremely hard to admit that all other options had failed. Unfortunately, the friend that gave me the idea to do this was one of the last deaths I’ve. . . . .
