James was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2015 aged 2, Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and autism are both general terms for a group of complex disorders of brain development. These disorders are characterized, in varying degrees, by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviours.

James is currently attending SNAP Academy which is an educational facility which specializes in therapies for children with special needs. As he is currently non-verbal, we really are pushing with other therapies as well, if interventions are made early in a child's life, we may be able to help him cope with social interactions in order for him to live a more independent life as he develops. Unfortunately this comes at a price, which we at this current stage are unable to absorb through our monthly salaries.

That is why in October we are hosting a fundraiser for James at the Barnyard Theatre in the Tygervalley. Hopefully in conjunction with this online campaign we can achieve our goal of raising his annual fees.
