Dear Friends,
Look at this sweet 4 years old boy. His name is Artem Kravchenko and he is from the town of Kremenchuk, Central Ukraine. Artem is the son of our close friends. Unfortunately, few days ago he has been diagnosed with a Acute lymphoblastic leukemia or acute lymphoid leukemia.
Without your support for quick and expensive treatment this brave little boy has only a small chance to survive!
Luckily, the disease has been found in its early stage and remission is very possible. Right now Artem is at the cancer treatment center in Poltava (regional capital city - 100km away from his home town) with his mother and father at his side.
The cost of treatment is approximately $70 USD daily (approx $80 CAD or 1000 Ukrainian hryvnias UAH - local Ukrainian currency). The first urgent phase requires 4 month of intensive daily treatment in the hospital which approximately requires $10,000 - $15,000 for medications, food and accomodation. The total process of treatment and rehabilitation will take up to 5 years and will cost tens of thousands of dollars more. As you can imagine his parents have taken an unpaid leave and continue to support Artem on their meager savings. The average income in Ukraine is around $200 per month, so even if they were both able to work full time they would still not be able to pay for his treatment, never mind food and other basic necessities. As you all know, Ukraine is going through a very difficult time and even so people are willing to help they can not give a lot.
Dear Friends, we ask for your help! Every dollar counts!
Please donate and share this page among your friends on a Facebook and any social media!
Please help us to save Artem!
We have uploaded copies of the medical records and will update you on a regular basis about Artem's progress and funds distribution.
Sincerely,
Nataliya and Denys Derzhavets
