Update posted by Anjelica Ferrara

From AJay’s mother

The latest on Ari: The nurses are amazed by her. She “calls” them frequently using the bedside remote and she’s able to tell them exactly what she’s feeling and what she needs. She also calls them “Doctor”. She remains charming, imaginative, and brave!

Monday’s surgery was considered a success, although it didn’t go exactly as hoped, she remained stable throughout the 9+ hr ordeal. Post surgery, what we thought was movement in her left leg is actually her knee. Nothing yet in her left arm or hand, but scans during surgery showed positive signs. She is able to shrug her shoulders. You should see her roll her eyes 👀! Can you say spitfire?

Doctors have put in orders for a transfer to another children’s hospital, Nemours in Orlando. Not exactly sure when we’ll leave, but assume we will stay for ~ one month.

Anjelica has proven tougher than I have ever pretended to be. She’s not been home since leaving for her 12-hour shift the morning of Thanksgiving eve. Other than putting in a few hours at UofFL hospital where she works in surgery, just 6 minutes away from Wolfson, she has not left her daughter’s side.

Please continue to pray for continued healing and God’s comfort for this innocent child.
