Auriana’s Medical Expenses

🎉 UPDATE 🎉

https://gogetfunding.com/aurianas-medical-expenses...

It is January 6th and it looks as though this will be our last night at Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando. Thirty days with a wonderful team of doctors, residents, interns, nurses, therapists, and support staff to which we are forever grateful. Two more therapy sessions in the morning and we hope to be discharged by lunchtime.

Also, a huge thank you to the Ronald McDonald House of Central Florida for their kindness, generosity, and support. In addition to the staff and volunteers, we have met some wonderful families whose strength has been so very inspiring!

Ari has progressed as much as she can at this point. She will see her neurosurgeon at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville the last week of January to determine if she is ready to have her halo removed. Once scheduled, it will be her third surgery. She will need to return to Nemours Orlando after removal for the final fitting of her custom leg brace that is still being constructed.

She still has much therapy yet to face but it will be on an outpatient basis. Without the halo, Ari will be able to balance more naturally and her therapy will accommodate a more real-life environment than that of living in a hospital setting.

Please continue to pray for Auriana. She will have hard work ahead of her and your love and support means so very much to us and all of her family. God bless you and love one another!

Update on Auriana:

Day 25 in Orlando has begun. Hard to believe it is has been 37 days since the horrific accident that started this nightmare. Ari had a Merry Christmas with family and all the magic that Santa can bring through the eyes of a four year old little girl.

We have much to be thankful for as start this last day of 2021. She was fitted for a custom brace on her left leg that will help for strengthening and control of her hamstring. Hopefully, the brace construction will be complete before her discharge so she can have her final fitting without a return trip to Orlando.

As of just two days ago, Ari is able to move each finger in her left hand! This helps her roll the wheel chair and she is doing much better wheeling herself using both arms.

Please keep us in your prayers. We wish you all a very happy new year and may God bless you and your families with much happiness, love, and good health.

Day 16 Orlando Update -

The week is going well and Ari’s excitement is growing with Santa’s pending arrival. She even received a letter from Santa that was personally delivered by her Elf, Rose.

We had a wonderful visit over lunch in the courtyard with Uncle Chris and Cousin Connor on Monday. Mimi and Pops came for a visit on Tuesday and brought a special guest visitor with them that delighted Ari like no other could. Daddy came with lots of love, hugs, kisses, and the extra encouragement that she needed to be brave as her recovery progresses.

Daily improvements continue and long-term prognosis remains hopeful. Movement in her fingers has increased and she has made strives with balance and is strengthening her muscles on her bicycle. The staples from surgery #2 were removed today and we received an estimated discharge date for the week of January 10, 2022.

Please continue to keep Ari in your prayers and know that she feels the love and it’s truly making a difference. God bless you all and we wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and the happiest of holidays 💜

Update on Ari:

Day 9 is complete at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando.

Auriana continues to reach little milestones each day. Today she transferred an object from her right hand to her left hand and then was able to pass it off.

Her days are filled with therapy (she loves going to the gym) and spends lots of time with crafts, coloring, playing games, and we try to get outside every day.

The weather has been unseasonably warm, even for central Florida with highs in the mid-80’s. We had a rain shower this afternoon and then the most beautiful rainbow appeared.

Thank you again for all the prayers, good wishes, meals, toys, and donations.

Much love to all, Mom and Grandi

aka, Anjelica and Andrea

💕Nugget Update💕

Well for starters 🤗 we have movement in her left arm !

Auriana is progressing well here with the therapy regimen . They have her in PT & OT each twice a day & she has been loving it . She is also in their Peds Academy to get some schooling in as well M-F .

The Drs all seem to agree that she will do amazing here at this rate & will leave here walking again without a wheelchair ! 🙏🏼💜

Again, I want to thank each and every kind soul who has reached out in any type of way . Your support & prayers have lifted Ari & I so high . It is truly a miracle to watch my child healing daily so thank you !

Please continue to pray for her left arm & spinal cord to heal so she can continue to progress . All good news so far though 🙏🏼💜

Hi all 🤗 we are officially settled (halfway) in Orlando Nemours. We got here around 12 today. Just waiting for accommodations at the Ronald McDonald House. Our stay should be ~ 4-6 weeks for intense rehab, working on getting back as much movement to her left side as possible .

I promise to keep everyone updated with her progress. My nugget has been such a fighter .

Ari & I want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the love, prayers, donations, & check-ins since her accident . It means the world to me that so many people love & care about my gorgeous girl’s health .

From AJay’s mother

The latest on Ari: The nurses are amazed by her. She “calls” them frequently using the bedside remote and she’s able to tell them exactly what she’s feeling and what she needs. She also calls them “Doctor”. She remains charming, imaginative, and brave!

Monday’s surgery was considered a success, although it didn’t go exactly as hoped, she remained stable throughout the 9+ hr ordeal. Post surgery, what we thought was movement in her left leg is actually her knee. Nothing yet in her left arm or hand, but scans during surgery showed positive signs. She is able to shrug her shoulders. You should see her roll her eyes 👀! Can you say spitfire?

Doctors have put in orders for a transfer to another children’s hospital, Nemours in Orlando. Not exactly sure when we’ll leave, but assume we will stay for ~ one month.

Anjelica has proven tougher than I have ever pretended to be. She’s not been home since leaving for her 12-hour shift the morning of Thanksgiving eve. Other than putting in a few hours at UofFL hospital where she works in surgery, just 6 minutes away from Wolfson, she has not left her daughter’s side.

Please continue to pray for continued healing and God’s comfort for this innocent child.
