Hospital Day 4 & 5

Update posted by Apol Hidalgo

Yesterday, doctors just decided to continue the existing treatment and management while brainstorming on how they will proceed given my sister's weak condition.

Today, even if the Oncologist mentioned that the fluid in the abdomen will help her during the chemotherapy sessions, they still decided to drain it due to the unimaginable pain and high level of discomfort that it's causing my sister.

As of now, almost 3 liters of fluid have been drained giving Ate Karmi some relief and comfort. The doctors still highly suggest performing the gallbladder surgery and explained that there is a 13% chance of additional complications that might occur like pneumonia, lung collapse, and pulmonary embolism (blockage in one of the pulmonary arteries in the lungs).

The draining is still ongoing as of this very moment and the effect on my sister's body is quite amazing. She is now feeling a little comfortable and has a little energy, unlike these past few days where she feels very weak and has little to no energy.

That is why the doctors are now observing her in the meantime before performing the gallbladder surgery. They explained that the fluid might have caused the inflammation of her gallbladder. Let us all hope and pray that her body will continue to react well with this draining of fluid.

Today was a BETTER DAY, praying and hoping that this is the start of her improvement. Thank God and we thank you for all your support and prayers. May you continue to help us pray for BETTER DAYS.
