All but a beautiful day until later tonight, Ate Karmi started to feel sudden weakness. Her breathing is also irregular making it very difficult for her to breathe. If you can still remember, on her 8th day at the hospital, all the fluid was completely drained both from her abdomen and her right lung. This time the fluid is in her left lung, the culprit why she is now having a hard time again. Her potassium is also down so the doctors gave her something to keep it at the normal level.

Earlier today, she was already able to make her first walk which was an excellent improvement. Ate Karmi was also able to eat a little more amount of food than yesterday. She also feels a little better than the past few days. So basically it was a better day until suddenly, the above-mentioned happened. :(

Let us all continue to pray for her to get away from this another tough situation. Lord help us. Please hear our prayers.

TO BETTER DAYS.

Another fine day people and I want to give a special thanks to Joyce and Ate Jhing (member of Morales family) for donating blood and to all the people who wanted to donate as well. It's a tremendous help! She was transfused with 2 packs of blood, feeling a little better than yesterday and hoping that this continues in the coming days.

Now after 10 days of being stuck on her bed, she can now move a little and sit someplace else aside from her bed. Still with an assist from Val but definitely an achievement for my sister.

Her food intake is also improving gradually. She is now slowly increasing the amount of food she takes which is now giving her more energy and strength. However, once a portion of food starts to go inside her body, her breathing starts to deviate and forces her to wait for a couple of minutes to normalize her breathing again before taking another munch. Still a HUGE improvement and a small victory worth celebrating.

When she was also admitted, she can't doo-doo (poop) on her own without taking a laxative. Today, she was able to doo-doo twice without the help of any medication. Another small victory! Aja!

I also want to thank Kap BJ and the gang for putting a tarpaulin (see above) at Justinville Subdivision supporting the fundraising drive for Ate Karmi. You can also support this drive by visiting www.facebook.com/flourforyou where you can taste unimaginably delicious goods and at the same time helping the cause.

Thank you for all your support and prayers! Let us all be part of her journey beating cancer.

TO BETTER DAYS

We are looking at a bright day people, a BETTER DAY. A week before, she eats like a month-old baby and her stomach can't even bear it. Today, Ate Karmi is eating like a 10-year-old child, yea still not for her age (3*) but something worth celebrating already.

These past few days, she also can't even sit straight because of the pain and uneasiness she constantly feels. But today, she sits like a queen, eating breakfast by the bed with her lovely and very supportive husband beside her. Again, I can't thank you enough for all your support and prayers.

Currently, she is on antibiotics to kill the infection and by the way, she still needs more blood. If you or you know anyone who is O+ and willing to donate, please comment on this thread on how we can contact you.

Lord, may this be the start of her improvement and continue till her body is strong enough to start the chemotherapy.

TO BETTER DAYS

Another rough day people. Ate Karmi's fever came back with the uneasiness and again feeling shaky. Based on the lab tests yesterday, there's some sort of infection in her blood. She was immediately referred to a specialist to have this checked and to do more tests. Unfortunately, the infection is already building up and she also has to be transfused with blood.

Godsend after a pack of blood, she started to feel a little loose and relaxed. Sadly, Ate Karmi needs to have more blood so if you happen to know anyone who is O+ and willing to donate, you can comment on this thread on how we can contact you. It will be an enormous help and will be greatly appreciated.

With this, only god knows how many more days she will be at the hospital. Please help us pray and ask God for more strength for her to get the better of this sickness.

TO BETTER DAYS

Good news! Ate Karmi is now starting to eat rice which was so difficult for her to do before. She was also able to get a goodnight's sleep and her fever stopped already.

Per her doctors, she still has to stay for more tests and observation just to be on the safe side. They also want to make sure that there will be no fever again. Her doctors mentioned that if everything goes well, she can be discharged on Wednesday and prepare her body for chemotherapy.

Another good thing that happened is her draining is now a complete stop. They have removed the draining tube and gathered 6.5 liters of fluid in total.

Yet another adversity to thump, the father of my sister's husband suddenly passed away. With everything that's happening, we pray that the Lord bless us especially Ate Karmi and her husband with the strength to sail through this backbreaking situation.

At this moment of difficulty, I am respectfully asking everyone that's reading this to extend our prayers and convey our deepest words of sympathy to Val (Ate Karmi's better half) and his family. May God give him and his family strength to bear this great personal loss.

TO BETTER DAYS

Today is a better day. Ate Karmi is slowly transitioning from TPN to full oral food intake. Although she's still on TPN, her food processing orally is improving little by little.

About the fluid in her tummy, draining is still ongoing with more than 5 liters drained. When she was admitted, the size of her tummy was 91cm and now down to 80cm. All the pain and high level of discomfort improved dramatically.

Her doctors even cleared her for discharge, unfortunately, she had a fever and had to postpone. Ate Karmi has to stay for observation and some tests why she had a fever.

Again, thank you for all your support and prayers. God bless you all.

TO BETTER DAYS.

Another day that we had hoped and prayed for. Ate Karmi does NOT have to undergo surgery as the ultrasound showed that her gallbladder was only inflamed because of the massive fluid in her abdomen.

To date, 5 liters of fluid have been drained, and if it continues to accumulate over time, they will place a catheter somewhere in her tummy area to make a continuous draining.

And finally, although she's still on TPN, her doctors cleared her for a SOFT DIET as she can now process food orally little by little without having to vomit or feel nauseated.

We are now slowly seeing progress and improvement and that is all because of your support and prayers. Once her body is ready, she will immediately start chemotherapy.

Again, we thank you for all the support and prayers.

TO BETTER DAYS.

Yesterday, doctors just decided to continue the existing treatment and management while brainstorming on how they will proceed given my sister's weak condition.

Today, even if the Oncologist mentioned that the fluid in the abdomen will help her during the chemotherapy sessions, they still decided to drain it due to the unimaginable pain and high level of discomfort that it's causing my sister.

As of now, almost 3 liters of fluid have been drained giving Ate Karmi some relief and comfort. The doctors still highly suggest performing the gallbladder surgery and explained that there is a 13% chance of additional complications that might occur like pneumonia, lung collapse, and pulmonary embolism (blockage in one of the pulmonary arteries in the lungs).

The draining is still ongoing as of this very moment and the effect on my sister's body is quite amazing. She is now feeling a little comfortable and has a little energy, unlike these past few days where she feels very weak and has little to no energy.

That is why the doctors are now observing her in the meantime before performing the gallbladder surgery. They explained that the fluid might have caused the inflammation of her gallbladder. Let us all hope and pray that her body will continue to react well with this draining of fluid.

Today was a BETTER DAY, praying and hoping that this is the start of her improvement. Thank God and we thank you for all your support and prayers. May you continue to help us pray for BETTER DAYS.

Ate Karmi is still having a hard time processing food orally. Because of that, TPN is still continuous since that can sustain her body by giving her enough nutrients.

A new complication was also found and this time, a swollen gall bladder that can only be fixed through surgery. However, the doctors are afraid that her body could not handle the surgery and now looking for another solution.

Her lungs are now infection free but still taking diuretics to continue draining the fluid both from her lungs and her abdomen.

We are also still waiting for the green light of her chemotherapy sessions.

Help us pray to give her enough strength to surpass this very challenging phase of her life.

It appears that the fluid accumulated in her abdomen will help on her chemotherapy sessions soon. The doctor mentioned that it contains a lot of protein that will surely be helpful in her sessions and will just subside by itself.

Ate Karmi was in constant pain almost the whole day especially on the part of her abdomen where the liver is. There was also another complication found in her lungs which is being suspected as an infection or a tumor. If it is an infection, it needs to be treated first before doing chemo but if it is a malignant tumor, she can start the session already.

She is on continuous TPN since she still cannot process food orally. Unfortunately, even this is being rejected by her body, making her vomit with non-stop pain in her abdomen.

So today wasn't really the day we are all hoping to be but with all your prayers together with God Almighty's mercy, we will have better days and she will surpass this.

Thank you for sharing this fight with her. God bless all of you.
