From a coma scale of three (GCS 3), which is very low, Mike is now up to a coma scale eleven (GCS 11). He is responding more to outside stimuli. He is mostly asleep, but is usually awake in the morning. He opens his eyes, can follow simple instructions, yawns, scratches his body, swallows, among other things. His doctors say his brain is still healing and is on the road to recovery. In time, he will fully wake and will be able to do more. Right now, he is also receiving physical therapy.
