(RO): Cum a început povestea Dogs on Hills pentru mine? Mi-au plăcut câinii dintotdeauna. În octombrie 2015, am decis să o adopt pe Momo direct de pe stradă. Îmi doream un Pinscher pitic, dar nu concepeam să cumpăr un câine, când mulți alții aveau nevoie de familie. Așa că am luat-o pe Momo în schimb: un câine de talie medie spre mare, pufos, senior, posac, bolnav, foarte speriat. Am prins-o într-un act de inconștiență, năpustindu-mă asupra ei, fiindcă Momo nu stătea să fie prinsă.

Pentru că sunt extrem, extrem de încăpățânată când îmi doresc ceva și cum mi-am dorit ca Momo să devină un câine fericit, dar nu știam exact cum să mă port cu ea, am mers la dresaj. Am vrut și mai mult, așa am cunoscut-o pe Ana, care la acel moment avea grijă de peste 50 de căței ai unei persoane, în Apahida. De la ea am auzit de reabilitare comportamentală canină, cu ea am văzut-o pe Momo redevenind pui și de la ea am auzit de Dogs on Hills, ideea ei.

Cam doi ani mai târziu, după ce Momo a plecat, am făcut un credit - Prima Casă - am cumpărat o casă și un teren și ne-am mutat la Răscruci să facem ce ne place pe locul nostru: să lucrăm cu câini speriați. Căutarea casei a durat un an, obținerea creditului încă un an. Dar suntem încăpățânate.

Amândouă lucrăm, facem naveta la Cluj zilnic, altfel nu am avea cum să trăim - Dogs on Hills e munca noastră de suflet, pentru care nu luăm niciun ban, dăm de la noi. Nu avem zile libere și nu avem vacanță de când am început. Nu avem cu cine să ne lăsăm animalele, așa că: ziua începe la 7 dimineața și se termină pe la 22:00, după care, un pic de program de voie. Toate zilele încep așa și se termină tot așa. Noi facem tot: de la lucru cu câinii, la reparații, construcții, mers cu câinii la medic, dus câinii în probe, întors câinii din probe, promovat, vorbit cu voluntari, fosteri, adoptatori, vizitatori, curioși, facem și contabilitate de bază, că asociația e cu acte-n regulă, mergem și la evenimente, avem grijă și de pisici, de porumbei, de cioară, de papagali, de găini, de rațe, de pești. Primăvara mai și plantăm una - alta. Și ne dorim din tot sufletul să creștem frumos, încet, simplu și să ne bucurăm de fiecare pas.

Următorul pas ar fi gardul - 90 de metri liniari de gard, ca să aibă cățeii curtea lor, mare și frumoasă și să avem și noi, curtea noastră. Nu avem nici bani de gard, nici pentru a plăti oameni care să îl facă, dar știm prea bine că dacă vrei cu adevărat, se întâmplă. Orice donație de la prieteni, cadou de ziua mea, va fi folosită să cumpăr tablă pentru gard. Sunt încăpățânată și nu mă las până nu-l văd făcut. Și de nu mai dorm nopțile și lucrez pentru asta oricât ar fi nevoie.

(EN): How did the Dogs on Hills story started for me? I always liked dogs. În October 2015, I decided to adopt Momo right from the street. I wanted a Miniature Pinscher, but I was not willing to buy a dog, knowing how many dogs need a family. So I took Momo instead: a medium to large sized dog, fluffy, senior, sad, sick, very fearful. I caught her în an unconscious act, attacking and grabing her, as she was not allowing anybody to touch her.

Because I am really, really stubborn when I want something and as I wanted for Momo to become a happy dog, but I did not know how to behave around her, I went to dog training classes. I wanted even more, so this is how I met Ana, who at that moment in her life was taking care of over 50 dogs în Apahida - the dogs were not hers. From her I heard for the first time în life about canine behavior rehabilitation, with hare I have seen Momo playing like a puppy and from her I heard about Dogs on Hills, her idea.

Two years later, after Momo left us, I took a loan and I bought a house and a big field and we moved to Răscruci to do what we like in our own place: work with fearful dogs. The search for the house took one year, getting the loan another year. But we are stubborn.

We both have jobs, and we go to Cluj daily, otherwise we would not have from what to live - Dogs on Hills is work for our souls, for which we do not take any money, but we give from our money instead. We never have free days and we never have vacation and it is like this since we started. We do not have whom to leave our animals, so: our day begins at 7 in the morning and ends at 22:00, after which we can have a free hour or two. All of our days begin like this and end like this. We do everything: from working with the dogs, to repairing stuff, building stuff, we go with the dogs to the vet, we take the dogs in trial for adoption, we take back the dogs from failed trials, we promote the dogs for adoption, we talk with the volunteers, fosters, adopters, visitors, curious people, we do basic accounting, because we now have a legal status of an NGO, we go to events, we also take care of cats, pigeons, a crow, parrots, chicken, ducks and fishes. In spring we also try to plant something. And we want from the bottom of our hearts to grow nice, simple, slow and enjoy each step of the way.

The next step would be to build the fence - 90 linear meters of fence, so that the dogs could have their own backyard and we have our small one too. We do not have money for the fence, we do not have people to build it, but we know very well that if you truly want something, it will happen. Any donation I will receive from my friends on my birthday, I will use it to buy materials for the fence. I am stubborn and I will not quit until I see it done. Even if I will have to be awake at night to work, I will work for this as long as it takes.
