Follow Up Check Up - Dec 29 & Jan. 11

Update posted by Kristina Soriano

Still recovering from Kawasaki disease, tips of baby Justin's fingers and toes started to peel as expected result. He was scheduled for a follow up check up on the below dates:

Dec.29, 2018 (Infectious Disease Specialist)

-Feedback was better as baby Justin's cracked lips is continuously improving, completely no rashes and slightly red eyes. Citirizine will be as needed for colds but the main medication Aspirin for his small aneurysm on the heart will continue until further advice is to be given by the cardiologist.

Jan. 11, 2019 (Pedia Cardiologist)

-Set for his second 2d Echo. The result was not as positive as we wanted it to be. The arteries on his heart became larger than normal for his age (Right:3.0mm; Left:6.0mm). Due to enlarge arteries, it can cause slow blood flow and oxygen to his heart, possibility of blood clotting is being avoided because it can lead to blockage and heart attack. The enlargement was still part if the Kawasaki disease and nothing to do with his ongoing activities.

The cardiologist provided a prescription 'Plavix' that needs to be taken together with Aspirin for 6 months and will still have 4-5 times of 2D Echo this year and for continuous monitoring until further advice.

We again express our thanks to all the support. We fervently pray for strength and hope for Justin's full recovery, it might take a long time and might even endure until he grows up but we keep our faith and hope that he will be able surpass and overcome this illness.
