Physically Healthy To Start Chemotherapy!

Update posted by Krystal Choo

Today, Mary received her results that her heart is healthy and blood work is normal, so she is able to start on chemotherapy soon! She's very nervous about it, but with support from friends and family, I'm sure she will be brave and stay focused on the big picture - to beat cancer and live a long, healthy life!

We had to go for chemo counselling today with the pharmacists, who graciously and patiently explained to us the side effects, what to expect, how the drugs work and lifestyle adaptations. After that, we purchased the recommended items to be prepared for the side effects; some non-alcohol mouthwash and toothpaste to help prevent sores and ulcers, lip balm, and meal replacement nutrition (peach flavoured) for days the nausea makes it hard to eat.

If you know Mary personally, please send her joy, encouragement, and uplifting messages to help her feel less anxious about this treatment.

Thank you for everyone's well wishes. We are almost halfway through our funding goal, so if you can spare a minute to share this campaign, it would be greatly appreciated by our family. If all goes well, next update will be on the 30th October, her first day of chemotherapy!
