Update 14.08. 2018

First, I want to show you all the team working on site to deliver supply bought with your funds to Lombok (the needs are still very basic: medical, water, food, tent).

It’s quite impressive, about 200 people, are involved.

At this stage, we are also thinking about sanitary issues, how to keep camps clean.

International news are becoming even scarcer, and there are still no sign of any NGO.

Coordination teams have done a big step by creating this pinpoint map to know the location of drop off point for each supply.

Casualties are still growing:

  • 392 people died
  • 1353 people were injured
  • 387067 people were displaced
  • 67875 houses were damaged

Some Good News

The Army has finally arrived. Soldiers have brought lots of supplies, so conditions will get better quickly. We still want to make sure that everyone receives those supplies, even in remote places. Hopefully within 3 days, we won’t have to transport and delivery food anymore.

But we will continue our help with our second step: reconstruction. Basics needs will be met, but they are not enough to find a “normal “way of living…Living in a tent, with basic supplies, no place to clean yourself properly, no activities, no job…is not enough!

We will have to help them rebuild and get back to a "normal" life.

Gili News

Gili is slowly reopening, electricity is nearly back everywhere, lots of volunteers have started to clean and some of our Bali friend have decided to return. We still don’t know yet what to do with all the rumble.

Bali report

We found a psychologist, who give basic therapy for free. Maude, the coordinator of our team, had a session which did her lots of good. Some people are still afraid of movement, roofs, electric poles, and cannot sleep properly. They are still in shock. Working with us helps them to keep on, but as soon as they stop they fall in despair.

The French embassy, which we contacted, and which pays for the psychologist wage has also offered space to store food.

Alex, the French international fire squad/disaster coordinator, came with our team to see the conditions of the situation. Together with the embassy, they have given us a lot of support and promise to give us more.

Now we working on the accounting, to be able to give you the list of where the money has been spent, it will come shortly.

Please keep sharing.

Thank you a lot!

I will keep you posted.

Let's save Lombok !
