Survivors With Biros - Our Stories published

Update posted by Anna Morvern

It has been a personal honour and a professional privilege to write with a small group of survivors over the past week, in the run-up to Poetry Day Ireland tomorrow.

Survivors learnt about expressive writing: writing from the personal, the emotional, from the body, mind and spirit, from experiences and memories, from all that is held within, in your own voice.

Many men and women across Ireland have suffered childhood sexual abuse and rape, and each individual has a unique story of survival. Their voices should be heard.

A number of pieces of writing have been produced for publication. They give an insight into what it is like to be an adult survivor of childhood sexual abuse and rape. You can read them at Survivors With Biros: Our Stories.

Thank you so much for supporting this worthwhile project which will now hopefully go from strength-to-strength and become more sustainable for the future.

In addition to thanking everyone who has donated money, I would also like to thank DataLex Consultancy for giving me an invaluable free advice session on relevant website security, data protection and privacy law.
