Session 2

Update posted by Aika Shiomoto

Last March 4, I went home to the Philippines. I arrived Manila 12mn of March 5. Later that day, I accompanied my mom to DLSU Medical Center in Dasmariñas, Cavite to fix her PCSO requirements for a medicine discount. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get the aid that she needed, so we had to pay the full amount for the medicine (P19,500) and the doctor’s fee which costed (P 8,000) — total of P24,000 (approx ¥ 50,000). Last March 9, my mom and I went back to the hospital for her scheduled second session of chemotherapy. She was asleep throughout the session since she felt tired and dizzy. The session took about 6 hours (10:00am-04:00pm). After her second session, she went straight back home and took a rest. The following days, the effects of chemo started. She started to vomit, get dizzy, feel weak. The same things that happened and she experienced during her first session, but this time the effects were weaker (thank God!). She was able to do household chores and walk after a few days. I was not able to assist her anymore since I already went back to Japan to work again.

Hopefully, her body will respond well to the treatments that she will receive. Still praying for her fast recovery. Long way to go, but we are still fighting our way to her full recovery.
