My name is Aika Shiomoto and I am currently living in Japan with my sister, Erika. We left our mom and two younger brothers in the Philippines because of citizenship reasons. Due to that, we have decided to be the main providers for the whole family since we both have started working. Our dad has been divorced from our mom years ago but still has a good relationship with the family until now.

Everything was good until consecutive obstacles came upon us.

Sometime in 2015

Our dad got diagnosed with chronic kidney failure due to his very old age (he is now 80 years old). A kidney transplant is not possible anymore that is why he’s only been living off of hemodialysis thrice a week. Luckily, he can provide all the medical expenses for himself because of Japan’s good health benefits. Sometimes when he has to be admitted in the hospital, we also give financial assistance for his medical expenses.

December 2016

Our mom, Emma Dimacali (48 years of age) got diagnosed with stage 2B cervical cancer which rapidly got worse and became stage 3B. Several masses grew on the left side of her cervix. There was a mass that was already too big; thus, having an operation is no longer an option. Her first chemoradiotherapy treatment, which lasted for a couple of months, was a success. Me and my sister did everything that we can to pay for her medical bills.

January 2018

Another mass grew, this time it was bigger, on the right side of her cervix, which metastasized to her pelvic bone. Everything went back to zero again. Now, she needs to undergo a much stronger dosage of chemoradiotherapy immediately, otherwise the cancer cells will spread more. Since she will be taking a stronger dosage of medicine, medical costs will be more expensive as well. We don’t have much left because of our past financial family problems.

We would like to ask for your assistance in sending our mom to her laboratory tests and chemoradiotherapy sessions so we can still spend more days, months, and years with her. Any amount would be of great help. We will be extremely grateful for a lifetime.

Session 2

Update posted by Aika Shiomoto at 05:34 am

Last March 4, I went home to the Philippines. I arrived Manila 12mn of March 5. Later that day, I accompanied my mom to DLSU Medical Center in Dasmariñas, Cavite to fix her PCSO requirements for a medicine discount. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get the aid that she needed,. . . . .
