We did it. You did it. You helped me with your donations. With your support. With your encouragement. With sharing and re-sharing this fundraiser, telling your friends and relatives, and it happened. It's happening. My appointment for first assessment is booked.

It's the final day, and every little bit on top still helps me. I have some news to share that may illustrate things somewhat. I've not talked about it much, but I've been surviving on a very low income combined with benefits, as I'm a freelancer. My rent was paid with benefits that just got cancelled, probably for good, and I had to get a new job in a hurry. I was lucky, I landed this new job, it's stable with regular hours, but it's part-time, at my choice because it's what I know I can handle. The new job brings stability but I'm not exactly swimming in it: I am simply no longer at the mercy of the government's increasingly draconian welfare measures.

So even though I have this new job, it's just enough to survive and I wouldn't have been able to save the money for the diagnosis. Even though I landed a new job, I still desperately needed this fundraiser to succeed, and it has.

I feel like I'm losing coherence fast, here, it was my first day at work today and I did that plus cycling 7 miles in the rain plus playing football. I just feel incredibly grateful right now.
