Campaign Story
If you wanna know things in-depth, the video above should tell you what you need to know! A transcript of the video follows, but here’s the short of it:
I’m a trans woman who is a freelance translator/subtitler/admin assistant and content creatorand I feel undiagnosed and untreated ADD may be tearing my life apart. I need to be able to plan things properly, administer my time carefully, in order to be able to, you know, make enough money to pay rent and buy food. Everything I have read about women with ADD seems a very close match, especially the experiences I’ve been related to by friends.
I went through the NHS diagnostic process, which was extensive, tedious, and ultimately ended with a case of ‘trans broken arm syndrome’ (in other words: when you go to a doctor about an issue unrelated to being trans and they make it about you being trans). It was exhausting and I cannot afford the energy to go through it a second time (because hello, I also have clinical depression, which is heavily connected to my dysfunctions!).
This fundraiser is so that I can pursue a private diagnosis from a professional that won’t make it about me being trans, that will address my issues seriously and help me seek treatment. The fundraiser will cover the initial assessment as well as 3 follow-up assessments. And there’s rewards to be had! Awesome! Thank you for donating or sharing this fundraiser!
NOTE: Shipping for physical rewards must be paid by donor.
