We went into the village of Taviramongy. The strangest and most bizarre thing happened to me today in the village. I unintentionally offended some of the villagers when I said I lost my phone and went into a frantic search only to realize that I had left it with Kotie earlier. After we were done with all the interviews, I was told that I had to make a formal public apology, ending it with a dance. I quickly and humbly took to verbalizing my sorries and what I didn't mean to do. However, the hard part was the dance, and I had to get my teammates and Fahra to do it with me! But everything was lifted up as we danced the "tribal" dance (a welcoming dance they did for us when we arrived). It definitely broke the tension. It's a way to appease them and to leave with no hard feelings. Apologizing with a dance? Checked!
