Frequently Asked Questions

Update posted by Stephen Sammut Nurminen

Which countries offer this treatment?

To date, the most renowned centers offering this type of treatment are based in the U.S, Russia, Germany and Israel. For obvious reasons, Germany would be most practical and the following link offers information on the German based center http://www.heidelberg-university-hospital.com/.

How much does the treatment cost?

On average, this treatment costs between EUR50,000 and EUR60,000 (this only covers costs incurred by the medical center).

How can I be sure that the money I donate will be used for this cause and not something else?

Receipts of any expenses incurred, shall be posted online. Also, I would like to ensure you that, if for some reason or other, we were not to go ahead with the treatment, any funds raised shall be donated towards MS research (again, receipts and supporting documents will be posted online).

Why doesn't the local government help with the cause?

Unfortunately, HSCT is not yet recognized by the FDA as there is not enough supporting evidence on this treatment and its capabilities. For this reason, it is not possible to get any sort of backing from the government.

I am financially tight at the moment and cannot donate much. Will I make a difference by donating a small amount?

Every drop counts and we are extremely thankful to anyone who contributes towards reaching our goal.

Will I be given a receipt of this donation?

Following your donation, you are supposed to receive an e-mail receipt. Please advise should this not be the case.
