I got the call that she's awake from the anesthesia and the procedure went well. They took some biopsies and the vet is convinced that the issue is not cancerous. They did have to pull several teeth and they aren't entirely sure yet the cause of the infection - it may be an autoimmune disease. There's more tests to do. On top of the bacterial infection there may be a yeast infection so further medication will be necessary. That's what I got over the phone. I'm going to pick her up at 3:30 pm and get the full report including the bill. But the good news is - no sign of cancer! :-)
