Ben Fundraising for Trike & Cerebra

My name is Ben, I am 12 years old and I have Cerebral Palsy which makes it difficult for me to use my legs. I use my wheelchair to get around most of the time. I also enjoy cycling, however I have out grown my trike. I have been lucky enough to have been awarded a grant by a children's charity called Caudwell Children. The grant will meet 80% of the cost towards an adapted Hase Trike, which would be suitable for my needs. I am aiming to raise the balance of the cost, £532.25 through sponsorship for a challenge I set myself and selling my home made bakes at a bake sale. I have set a target of £1,000 with the balance of £467.75 being split between Caudwell Children & Cerebra (another charity who have helped me in the past).

The challenge I set myself was to complete a round trip from Chelmondiston to Shotley on the bus, over to Landguard Fort on the Foot Ferry, into Felixstowe on the bus, (lunch on the beach), into Ipswich on the bus and finally back to Chelmondiston on the bus. There are some pictures of me on the ferry, on the bus and at the bus stop; I managed to completed the challenge almost independently - I only needed my Dad to help me onto & off the ferry and then along the shingle beach at Landguard Fort, everything else I did all on my own. I will be selling some of my homemade bakes at home in the next few weeks!
