My name is Bella, I was rescued as a baby and took to my local Animal welfare, BARC, located in Gansbaai Western Cape. I have long and fluffy hair. I have my best friend and sister with me and we are inseparable. In 2019 I got hit by a car and had to be rushed to Animal Hospital at 1am in the morning.
They had to put a big pen inside her right leg. After 4 days she was allowed to go home. After returning a few time for check ups we received our bill and had a big surprise. The bill was just over R27,000. They required us to make the full payment immediatly. Unfortunately we were unable and they just refused to help us until the bill is settled. We have been making small payments every month.
Bella and her best friend Bailey (Both adopted from BARC) are very active dogs. They will not survive without each other. They are so special to us. They eat sleep and do everything with us.
It make me sad to see that Bella has some pain during winter nights and while running and playing.
When we took her that night we had an 2 options, amputate the leg or do the operation. We did not even consider amputation as we love and care to much for our Bella.
I would like to raise money on her behalf to settle the bill and get the pen removed as it causes a lot of discomfort and pain. They are the worlds most happy dogs but Bella's life has been disrupted.
This will mean the world to Bella as she will be able to run without restriction, play and just live a well deserved normal life.
Current bill is on R27,340. This includes the operation and the pen inside her leg. 4 days spent in the animal hospital. A number of check ups and x-rays.
If I reach the target it will be paid to the Animal hospital so the I can take Bella in for the removal of the pen.
