Beatriz’ College Campaign

To my friends, friends of friends, community, and beyond:

I am asking for your help, to raise money so I can attend Nursing School starting in late August (8/27/18 is the first day of class). I feel lucky and blessed to have been accepted at to Central Wyoming College 's (CWC) Nursing Program in Riverton, WY! This two year accelerated program will allow me to get the skills I need quickly, so I can return to the Jackson community fully equipped to give back, and, along with my partner Jared, be able to raise a family, too! This has been my dream for many years.

If you don't know me, I came to Jackson 12 years ago, first as an AuPair and lived with a family from Jackson Hole. I then worked in retail; until I received my permanent residency in 2012 and started to work as guest manager at Amangani. Although those were great and fun jobs, I knew I wanted to do more and pursue my dreams of a nursing career.

For two years, I worked at Emerg+A+Care with Dr. Blue and now I am at Women's Health and Family Care (Jackson, WY) as a Medical Assistant. I have been learning so much with all the doctors and nurses I work with and being in contact with patients and helping them is just wonderful. I feel I could be ahead of most students in my class by already being in the health field; so I am thankful for that opportunity. And, I can't wait to become a nurse!

After I graduate, I want to pursue a job in a hospital, where I wish to gain experience and hours with patient care and perhaps continue my education towards a bachelor's degree and become a Nurse Midwife. I know I will have a lot of options and many different doors will open after I become a nurse.

I am particularly passionate about women's care and obstetrics and there is a great chance I take this path after graduating!

I ask for help because it’s very expensive to fulfill my goals and I am trying not to go into too much debt. I will, however, take a federal student loan to help me pay for college.

Admittedly, I am embarrassed to ask for money, but today I swallow my pride, and ask for help. I believe I have something beautiful to offer.
