Be Someone to Lean On

Hi everyone. All pride is being swallowed because we desperately need some help and we are scared. When my husband received a transfer for his job position as a wildland fire fighter working for the state, we were excited because there was a house on the property where he is stationed available for our use. It was supposed to be ready by the time we moved here and his start date of September 1, 2021. That is not what happened at all.

We ended up the first couple of weeks having to get a hotel room because the home was not ready yet and we were told it would only take a few weeks. Due to western deployment of other wildland firefighters as well as others having Covid those couple of weeks have now become months. We have been able to use a travel trailer, but for the first half of our time with it we were being charged $500 a week which is well more than what my husband brings home in a month. We have been able to get the second half drop down. Because of going in the hole at the beginning with the hotel rooms we have not been able to catch up on anything. I took a large pay cut as a teacher going from my previous school district to this one. I cannot tell you how many sleepless nights we have had trying to figure out how to catch up on things and be able to finish paying off our rent on this trailer, not lose our only vehicle because it is behind an even worse wondering sometimes how we are going to feed our son. He is such an amazing kid, we were not even able to celebrate his birthday in November and he said he didn’t care because he knows his parents love him. We have tried to get loans but we’re in the process before moving of rebuilding our credit and now with applying for loans our credit has taken a huge hit. We are scared about getting through this because we have exhausted all options, including selling my car if you want to go below value to take care of some emergency need to be had. We are not even worried about Christmas at this point, we just need help getting back to an even amount we are we are not in the whole $500 every pay period as we have been. I know my friends do not really have much they can do but what I do ask is to please share this. If we can reach those that are in a position to help, or would be amazing.

We will be able to move in to the house this week! That also means we have to pay the man we rented from. I am asking for help with this and our past due truck payments so we do not get repossessed. If that were to happen I would lose my job.

Today I actually cried in front of my students just thinking about everything. I told them I was just overwhelmed with how proud I am of their work they’ve been doing. I cannot continue like this. Todd and I have both lost tons of sleep and even weight from the stress. Thank God for my Doctor Who is giving me an additional depression pill to enhance my other depression and anxiety pill, I’m not sure if I would be here today.
