Campaign Story
BatuKaras people are doing it very hard at the moment.
And for the long foreseeable future.
Their area is effectively locked down. That means they cannot go further than Pangandaran without a clean health certificate. No foreign or domestic tourists can come. Therefore the income of all those in town has been reduced to zero, with no help or support coming from central or local government
Most local people live on day to day money in normal times But in this especially extraordinary situation, not even that is possible. It has come to the necessity that the hope their foreign friends will help them financially weather this storm. We foreign tourists have been able to arrive there and enjoy the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of Batukaras at small cost to our pockets. We know the treasure this place and it’s people are.
Please help with a monetary donation Your donation will go toward purchasing food for fair and equal distribution to the local people. It will also go toward restaurants to provide a free meal daily to any local person and their families. Fortunately nobody in Batukaras has contracted the Corona Virus.
Local personnel have been organised already for food parcel purchases and cash distributions.
The target on this fundraiser is set at a low figure so that the funds may be distributed early and quickly.
This fundraiser will be open ended as nobody has any idea how long this situation will remain and that funds may continue to flow in their direction.
Thank you so much from myself and the people of Batukaras. May we all meet again on Legok Pari, at the point or the reef and share some waves and good times.

Update posted by Stephen Perry at 07:51 amAfter the horror of mass plastic bag use last week we determined that more enviro friendly tote bags should be sourced.
