Hello,

My name is Lisa and I am 49 years old and I have stage 3 Cervical Cancer. I have 4 Adult kids and 4 grand babies I was diagnosed April 29th, 2022. Before my diagnosis I worked in the medical field as an Emergency Room Technician at Christ Hospital in Oaklawn Il from 1999 -2005 then I became a Dialysis Technician at Fresenius from 2005 – 2015. The last position I held before I became seriously ill was a Private Care Technician for the clients in Buckhead, GA. I love working in the medical field, caring for others is what made me happy and carried me through my day, I truly miss it. I was terminated from Fresenius for fraternizing with my patient, yes, I may have been wrong but to see the smiles on their faces, the laughter and the all love truly made my day and because of that I have no regrets. I would do it all over again I threw a Christmas party of all 8 of my patients and my co-workers that told on me which led to me being fired. God is so good the private care position came very quickly following my termination.

In the beginning of 2022, I noticed that I was always tired, I convinced myself it was due to the hours that I put in at work. I worked from Monday 8am – Friday 8am, 24 hours a day. I finally decided to take off and go to the doctor and at that is when I was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer. As you can imagine that news hit me like a ton of bricks and my life took a turn for the worse from that point. I weighed 215lbs when I was diagnosed and now, I weigh 145lbs. I flatlined 5 times on the emergency room table with the 5th tim being out for 15 minutes, yes, I said 15mins. The doctors told my children that they needed to decide what they wanted to do because if by chance that I did wake up from the ventilator I would be a vegetable. As you can see my God said different, I woke up 2 days later with body working as it should, I do suffer from some memory loss, however I was told that that will slowly return as time goes on. While in the hospital I had Covid 9 times, a full hysterectomy, 2 heart attacks, 2 strokes, 3 seizures, my body had become sepsis and 3 surgeries. I now wear a colostomy bag, it’s hard to walk, and even eat at times and talking was even hard for me to do During this time, I lost my home, my job and now I am hiding my car to escape repossession. I am battling with social security to receive benefits; they are giving me such a hard time. I come to you all for help that is honestly, desperately and unequivocally needed. I live with my daughter and her family who is not able to work because she takes care of me so the only income that comes into her home is from her significant other. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don’t want to be a burden on my daughter and her family. I would love to be able to contribute to my existence in her home however it is a strain most times I have to reach out to family and friends for money for medical supplies, to assist with bills in the home, sheets, undergarments and toiletries such as toothpaste, deodorant etc., and that’s just to name a few. So, any assistance that you can give it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED and would truly be a Blessing, because I can’t work right now, however, I am going to continue to work and kick cancers ass. Thank you all in advance.

Sincerely

Lisa
