Campaign Story
Hey all,
This Christmas, I'll be aiming to hike the entirety of the Maclehose Trail (100km) completely barefoot, and it'll be my first attempt at it. I don't have an exact time frame, but I intend to finish it in consecutive days.
In doing so, I hope to be able to raise a little awareness, as well as some funds for both Feeding Hong Kong and Food Angel. Both local NGOs work tirelessly in helping underprivileged people in the city from going hungry. Their volunteers help in the sorting and redistribution of surplus food to people, which in turn helps alleviate the systemic issue of food waste, as well as the unnecessary overfilling of the city's limited landfill sites. Food Angel also provides nourishing hot meals to those in need.
2020 has been a particularly challenging one for many, and with an increasing number of people finding it harder to support themselves with even with the most fundamental needs, it's more crucial than ever to support the work of these community led organisations. Any contribution you can make will help them to keep their operations running for those who need it, especially during these tougher and colder months of the year.
Please see either https://feedinghk.org/ or http://www.foodangel.org.hk/?l=en for more information.
Please don't hesitate if you have any questions about this fundraiser, barefoot running, or anything else for that matter!
Merry Christmas.

Job's a good'un
Update posted by Sei Ryu at 10:36 amI did it. I finished the big Mac barefoot walk. It took a week on the trail, with plenty of cold showers, too many packets of instant noodles, and just a touch of delirium for fun. My feet are sore, but my heart’s full.Seeing the varying stunning landscapes of HK. . . . .
Pesky little stones...
Update posted by Sei Ryu at 05:03 pmSo after 4 days of treading the trail, and with just about half of it covered, I'm now back home. I'm physically and mentally spent, and it's fair to say that it's been a punishing experience, but an altogether fulfilling one so far. I've been reminded of just how any. . . . .
