This is my fourth year fighting the badger cull. I am going down for 4 out of every seven days to the end & helping to protect a specific area with around 25 setts which I have protected for 3 years & know very well. I also go wherever needed in an emergency & with this year's cull zones four times as big as previous culls we are severely stretched. While there I work day & night, checking setts & protecting them by staying at them all night & chaisng off shooters if that's what it takes. Our presence in this area for the last 3 years means only one sett has been completely lost. It really does make a difference in protecting badgers from this 'ineffective and inhumane' cull as described by the Tories' own Chief Scientific Advisor. It's not about BTB, it's about clearing a protected species from the land to free it up for profitable development. This fight is to save badger's lives & for the fundamentals of who owns our land & the future of our wildlife. While there I am unstinting in my efforts to stop badgers being slaughtered. In four years I have only once appealed for funds to help me with travel costs & have spent a lot of my own money. This year I am not in a position to do that & am asking for your support. It costs at least £45 petrol every trip, with driving around the massive cull zones too & I am devoting myself to this with no income until it ends. My actual target is £130 as I am happy to pay part costs myself, but this site requires a minimum of £250 (I will spend a lot more than that over the weeks of the cull). Any help will be greatly appreciated and go entirely on travel costs & upkeep of essential equipment such as torches. Thankyou for reading & I will keep you all posted on our successes & adventures x
