Baby Isaiah’s Medical Care

On Sunday, September 10th, our world was turned upside down when we noticed our precious 20-day-old baby's upper lip and forehead had a disconcerting blue/purple hue. What followed was a harrowing experience as these ominous colors spread to his entire face, accompanied by moments of him going limp for about 20-30 seconds.

In a frantic rush, he was transported to the emergency room via ambulance, where his condition worsened, leading to episodes of not breathing. The medical team swiftly took action, intubating him to secure his breathing. Following this critical intervention, he was urgently airlifted to a renowned children's hospital in Houston's medical center and admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

During his time in the PICU, our baby underwent a battery of comprehensive scans and tests, including MRI, MRA, EKG, EEG, and numerous blood tests. The results were as alarming as the situation itself: the MRI revealed a stroke, the EEG confirmed at least two seizures, and the EKG detected multiple tumors in his heart.

Genetic testing is now underway to determine the exact nature of these challenges, with suspicions pointing towards Tuberous Sclerosis. If this diagnosis is confirmed, it means a journey filled with continuous scans and doctors' visits in the future.
