Australian Adventure

This coming up summer I am going to be going to Australia with the people to people ambassador program. People to people ambassadors help students learn about Australia and what it has to offer for us. While in Australia we will learn about marine life, learn how to grow on our own, do a home stay and much more. Learning about the marine life and how to grow on our own is a huge part of our life because we are all coming to an age when we need to learn how to help the world and its life forms on it, plus learning how to live on our own in a place away from parent and family who have done things for us our entire life.    

  A home stay is when we get to stay at the house of soneone in Australia for a few nights and learn about their life at home, what they do for fun, what their school is like and what their hobbies are. Doing a home stay can teach me how the schools in Australia are so much different than the schools in America. I'm looking forward to the home stay the most because I will get to see how much or how little I have in common with my home stay sibling and what they like to do in their spare time and teach them some things that I like to do and have them teach me some things that they like to do.       

  Finding out what all Australia has to offer for me would be such an amazing opportunity to have. Without the acceptance into the people to people ambassador program I would not have this chance to go to Australia and explore the land. Over in Australia we will grow in our social skills and how to depends on ourselves and not on our parents to do things for us. For high school students this is very important because we are at an age where our parents shouldn't have to hold our hand for us to be able to do something.  Some of us that are going are seniors in high school so it is very important to us to learn how to be independent and gain social skills with people whom we don't know and have never met before. 

  Not only will we learn new skills and new things, but we will learn how to grow and build into our skills that we already have, learn new things about ourself that we did not already know, and see a new part of the world that we have never seen before. When we learn new things  about ourselves we can grow internally and show others what we know and what we can do, we can build ourself confidence when we are over in Australia by doing all of these activities. Going to Australia has always been a place that I want to go so I can learn more about the culture of the people and the different Marine Animals that they have there. 

  On our trip we will be going to a Marine Biologist island and spend a few days with the Marine Biologists and learn what they know. To me this is a once in a lifetime opportunity because becoming a Marine Biologist is what I want to do after high school and thanks to the People to People Ambassador program I can achieve this dream and grow my knowledge about the marine life and gain knowledge on things I do not already know. Being able to go on this trip would mean the world to me and I cannot thank People to People enough for giving me this opportunity to travel with them. Even though I have been accepted into their program I still need to raise over $7,000 dollars to be able to go with them, with your donations and help I can achieve this dream and goal in life and explore what Australia has to offer me.
