Campaign Story
In 2018 myself and three friends endlessly talked about creating our own project . Dream big.
we finally made it to the same country and in 2021 ARRC ( animal relief for rural communities ) created and launched into the animal welfare world. Based in Limpopo South Africa many rural areas were found to be completely without veterinary care & support for the multitude of domestic and working animals within.
Based in Selwane Limpopo ARRC now supports hundreds of animals. Providing -
- Veterinary care - giving life saving vaccines for a multitude of preventable diseases ( Rabies included)
- Chemotherapy treatment for an overwhelming number of dogs with TVT ( transmissible venereal tumours ) a form of canine cancer.
-emergency clinics - treating injuries , tick bite fever , malnourishment issues , wounds & infections.
- Supporting other domestic and working animals including donkeys. Treating injuries and providing essential medical care .
- Creating and implementing working donkey harness and bridles which are safe and Practical .
- Providing education & support to the community and the animal owners , improving animal welfare standard to the ‘ five freedom’ standard .
Networking and building trusting relationships within a community that has previously had zero support for animal needs.
- Teaming up with a local organisation that provides support to disadvantaged children and families . ARRC provides nutritious meals , education and exciting opportunities for the youngsters of this community .
Life can be hard for the animals & humans of Selwane .
ARRC has reached just a fraction of the potential and would love to continue with the endless work and opportunities . There work is real, on the ground , dealing with cases that are shattering .
But we must keep going and without support from you and so many others globally we wouldn’t be able to continue our goals for the animals , for the community . .
Funds will go DIRECTLY to the project in whatever way you wish
Clinic care - bringing in dogs & other animals . Chemotherapy treatment , treatment for tick bite fever , injuries , surgeries .
The list is endless..
Our sterilisation campaign - the puppy population is growing . ARRC has sterilised over 100 dogs so far but this number does not outweigh the population and puppies we see regularly. Sterilisation is one of the keys to success , reducing the population . Reducing the numbers of heartbreaking illness cases and deaths.
Sponsor a vaccine! We have now vaccinated hundreds of dogs against rabies , parvovirus and other life threatening diseases
Sponsor to feed the community animals . We now provide affordable dog food to 4 of Selwane’s grocery stores . Problems with low income means that owners often cannot afford and make the long journey to the nearest towns to purchase food for their animals . This has been a huge success so far with supplying low cost dog food . ARRC does not profit from these sales but we would love to continue to provide this basic need .
Sponsor the materials for our donkey harness and bridle project - from pipe , to chain, comfortable and safe materials to the guy that makes it all happen.. Richard!
Richard is our guy on the ground , he lives and breathes Selwane and is the master of donkey care and behaviour . He has tirelessly endured months of helping us create and make harnesses , welding & repairing carts and being our guy on the ground for communication and translation .
Outreach clinics - held monthly in community. We health check , treat & vaccinate hundreds of animals - sponsor a vaccine , sponsor a dog or even just sponsor a bag of dog food for the day . We can’t stress how every donation helps .
ARRC has big dreams and very exciting plans for the future . Animal husbandry and welfare is by far my personal passion.. from providing essential medical care , food & water , shelter and education you can help us continue what we started .
It’s not JUST about dreaming big anymore! Let’s do this!
So , Thankyou for reading so far and a HUGE THANKYOU if you wish to donate . I personally know how much impact even a small donation will have .

I still love animals, sheep still my favourite but I ended up working in human support social services. I think your work and your team is so important!
