Can you help our autistic and bi polar family?
Can you help us?
We have four children aged 25 and 20 (girls),16 and 14(boys). When our 16 year old was 10,he was dianosed with Aspergers syndrome.
At this moment I realised I may well be also having Aspergers syndrome. This led to our whole family being diagnosed as follows:
I was diagnosed with Aspergers.
My wife was diagnosed with bi polar.
My eldest daughter was diagnosed with bi polar.
My 16 year old son has Aspergers.
My 14 year old son was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, slow processing skills and poor memory. He has problems with his hands (hyper mobility) and wets his bed most nights despite medication.
My 20 year old daughter shows signs of Aspergers and ASD but is too scared to find out.
My wife and I have been together 32 years not knowing, until 6 years ago, the reasons for our extreme difficulties we experienced as a family.
My wife is disabled having had two spine operations, having to stay in bed for two years leading upto two spine surgeries and my wife is awaiting an appointment to consider a third.
I am my wifes' carer. I have also had back surgery. We want to support and provide for our family.
I cannot sit or stand for long periods of time but I do really want to find something I can do to:
A) Help my family
B) Help other people on the autistic spectrum and also people living with people on the spectrum.
I need to get a formal qualification in autism so I can give talks in schools, privately and after dinner speaking in order to help others and provide for my family.
We need to fund the course and support my family in the meantime. Thank you for taking your time to read about Mike and Gill Robinson
