Amy2borneo – STUDENT CHARITABLE WORK IN BORNEO

Hello, I am currently a student and along with Camps International, I am planning to volunteer in Borneo where I will work alongside local communities and other volunteer students to help improve living conditions, the local environment and surrounding habitats. This 4-week long volunteering experience is taking place in Summer 2019, after I have completed all my GCSE's .

Whilst in Borneo we will get the opportunity to make improvements that are vital to the development of their community, support the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary and also help with the ever growing issue of deforestation and try to reduce the impacts of this on the surrounding wildlife.

I am hoping to raise the funds for this project through own savings and fundraising events throughout the year, one of which will be to 'Tackle the Topping' - walk, climb and abseil Roseberry Topping, Yorkshire in August.2018. Other fundraising events will also be held throughout the year, though any donations or sponsorship will be greatly appreciated. All donations received through this page will be used towards this expedition and any ongoing projects through Camps International. Not only will this be a life changing opportunity for myself , but it will also make a bigger impact on the local's lives and future, as well as the country's magnificent rain forest and other ongoing projects.

This expedition will be full of personal challenges and outside my comfort zone but I am determined and very enthusiastic to make it a success.
