I am a 13 year old boy for Alaska. I have been obsessed with weather balloons ever since i saw a video of one on YouTube. Ever since ,I have been doing research on them. When i learned how inexpensive it was i wanted to do one, but sadly I am not legal age to get a real job, so I have been stuck baby sitting, but that hasn't been going well. So far I have raised $50, that's only eunugh for the balloon its self. When i realized that the tracker would be $100 by its self, I relized i couldn't do it by myself, that's when i came here.
Most of the money raised will be toward helium to fill up the balloon, the rest will be toward the equipment, such as the tracking device which will lead us to where the balloon landed. Helium will cost around $150 to fill the balloon. The tracker will cost about $100. The parachute to keep the equipment from exploding when it reaches earth will cost around $50. The camera that will be in the balloon will cost about $75. The balloon will cost around $50 (but that's taken care of). The rest of the money will be toward what we will be sending up, this includes rope, a foam ice chest, and hand warmers (so our equipment doesn't freeze).
We will be recording the whole flight and uploading it to youtube but it will have skips in it so the only way to see the full video is by donating!
Please remember that EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS! so even if you donate even a few dollars its extremly useful for us!
We hope to launch in fed. so we can hopfuly get some mountain shots!
