Our aim is to create an institution for underprivileged children in Beirut who never had the opportunity of dreaming of attending a music school.

By entering our programme, children discover what it means to learn how to play music, to be passionate about music, and to reach, for some, with time, a professional level.

Music is a tool to give those children a hope.

As the project expands, the house will turn into a broadcasting studio centred around music, art and culture.

The objective of this campaign is to start our project by a 3 month programme. We will settle in the place, teach 10 students and test how the project can expand.

Starting as soon as the campaign reaches its goal, we will offer piano classes for free to children from 9 to 16 years old. Students are more flexible as there is no school during the summer, but we will later accommodate with their school schedule.

The classes will start by 2 hours per week with 5 to 10 children per class.

There will be supervised by an assistant who will follow up with the children to make sure they can practice in our studio from one class to another.

After three months, we hope to start by a one year programme to determine the approach suitable for each student. With time we ambition to also prepare students for entrance exams for national universities and international music schools.

As we settle, we want to take advantage of the space to create a broadcasting studio with art, music and culture programmes for children and adults from the neighborhood.

Our house is located in an iconic building in the mixed area of Zoukak el-Blat, in the centre of Beirut, yet deprived of music and culture institutions accessible to all.

Through your support, we will kick off the project by a three month programme. We rely on your help to :

- rent a space in Zoukak el Blat, Beirut

- renovate the space to welcome the students

- get a piano for the classes

- pay the salary of the teacher

Expenses are the following for the first 3 months

Total: $7,100

Rent for the first 3 months: $1,000 x 3

Renovation of the space: $1,000

Instruments (pianos): $2,000

Cost for the professor for 10 students - 2 hours per week: $800

Cost of running the place: $300

How you can support us

Donate an instrument. A piano to start with, but other instruments are also highly appreciated.

Become a partner. We would like to start a community with people like us, passionate and determined to give those children some hope and skills. If you are interested, we can organise viewing of the space. We will give your feedback about our progress and include you in the decision making process as we are expanding.

Support us financially. Every contribution is important to us to help start this adventure.

We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas. Please do reach out to us!
