Aid for Maglente Family

How much can a family endure?

Unless helping hands are extended to them, they can only take so much. With just a father and son who are the only ones left healthy to be strong for their family, the Maglente family has already endured a lot.

Their eldest daughter, Alexah, who is only 18 years old, underwent an operation to remove a Pseudopapillary Tumor from her pancreas in a hospital in Cebu last 2020. Several months after the surgery, she developed a Dilated Cardiomyopathy (enlargement and weakness of the heart) which was immediately operated on at the Philippine Heart Center in March 2021.

Her additional laboratory test showed a more devastating result. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Juvenile Granusola Cell Tumor, an Ovarian Cancer in August 2021. She is currently confined at East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) and still fighting her battle with cancer. She is undergoing chemo therapy and frequent blood transfusions are much needed.

To add to their suffering, Alexah and her pregnant mom, Candice Marie, who is diabetic, both contracted Covid-19 during one of Alexah's Chemo sessions. Candice Marie, now battling a severe case of Covid-19, was intubated at the ICU of EAMC. She needed to give birth via emergency Cesarean Section due to fetal distress. Her baby boy is currently confined at the Neonatal ICU of the same hospital and is under close observation for possible Covid-19 infection and other complications.

Remjen, the father, is unable go back to work to attend to his needing loved ones in Manila. Their 10 year-old son is left in the care of his grandparents in the province. They have already sold their lands and car to take care of the bills that are still piling up.
