Campaign Story
TESTICULAR CANCER AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
MISSION STATEMENT:
To create & implement innovative ways to reach, educate & inform males in South Africa, as well as Africa, about the possible impact of cancer in their lives. To equip & support them in their fight against cancer.
VISION:
To create an awareness of the different cancers, namely (testicular, prostrate, pancreas, breast cancer both men & women & skin cancer. To re-educate the public throughout South Africa & Africa. The main focus is to establish healthy practices, to minimize & prevent the negative impact of cancer. To create awareness amongst the men in our society in previously disadvantaged communities. To educate the schools of the importance of self-examination amongst the male population.
It is very important to understand the implications of not been aware of this type of cancer, means a certain death sentence. It has been of the opinion that this type of cancer affects the elderly generation only. This is in fact not the truth. Young men as young as 13 are been diagnosed with Testicular Cancer & are dying from this type of cancer.
The education of the male population is of paramount importance as this is one of the cancers that can be treated successfully, if detected early. This cancer is attacking our future generation & most of the patients are unaware of the fact that they have cancer.
With these talks we will be creating an awareness of a healthy lifestyle & the importance of doing regular self-examinations. We will be playing a huge role in protecting our future generation.
We have been given the mandate by the Department of Education to take our talks into the schools.
