ADA DOG IN TRAINING

My fundraiser is for the intial purchase and transport of an ADA dog for my wife. On November 14 2012, my wife was taken to the ER for what she thought was just bad cramps. After hours of testing we found out it  wasn't cramps but rather heart and kidney failure. We live in Fairbanks, Alaska so we were put on a jet at 2:00am and sent to Seattel, WA. Rena (my wife) and I were there for 43 days, to find out she has end stage kidney disease, and severe hypertension. This has been a complete life changer for us. We are both military and used to being on the go 24/7, she has been through 4 deployments and I've had one so far. Now her job is to take it easy, and mine is to take care of her and try to maintain my job as a member of the US Army. With all of her appointments and meds, and now moving us out of Alaska our lives have changed completely. An ADA dog (Americans with Disabilities Act) would be a great thing for my wife as she transitions to civilian life, to help her with daily activities such as taking her meds on time every day (she now takes 14 medacations a day), her mental transition to civilian life (doctors have told us that she shows signs of PTSD however have not given her an official diagnosis yet) and to keep her from felling alone all day while I'm working (the doctors have also warned me to keep an eye on her for depression, because she never planned to leave the Army, until retirement). The cost of an ADA dog enormous, compaired to getting a puppy as a family pet. I have been lucky enough to find a breeder that will work with us on the cost of the dog and also assist us in training him ourselves. This way we can keep the cost as low as possible. That being said the intial purchase and transportion will still be $1100. Adding an ADA dog to our family doesn't raise our monthly bills to far, however with the medical cost and traveling, that upfront cost is out of reach.
