Last month there were a total of 10 animals who had been abandoned by their human family on an acquaintance's property. The house they were living in aparently went into forclosure and rather than take responsibility for the 7 cats 2 dogs and 1 iguana and seek out proper foster care for them, they just left them... They were left in cages and carriers under a carport with nothing... not even a blanket for them to curl up on, trapped in tiny carriers sleeping in their own filth.

The man who's property they were left on did his best to provide care for all the animals by providing water and food and cleaning out the carriers once a day, but was quickly overwhelmed by the needs of both his and the orphaned animals.

The dogs and iguana were allowed inside the home however since he had 5 cats of his own the abandoned cats had to remain outside in their carriers for several weeks.

I learned about the situation while visiting his home one day after the animals had been there nearly three weeks and what I saw broke my heart and the rescue effort began.

Out of the 7 abandoned cats, I was able to find foster care for 4 of them - a pregnant and nursing female and her 3 kittens.
The other cats couldnt wait for the time it takes to find foster families and were taken to the shelter who at the time were participating in a no kill campain put on by the ASPCA, helping their odds at finding new homes, and getting them out of the misery they had been enduring thus far.

Sadly one dogs whereabouts are unknown and the Dachshund and Iguana are still in need of homes as well.

Fostering these animals and providing the proper care to get them adopted is expensive and we need your help Keeping them out of the already overcrowded shelters and on the road to safe, happy futures.
The mother cat is going to have her last litter any day now and she still has nursing kittens, so this care is about to get very expensive.
Thank you for your help
