As some of you may already know, I have the exciting (and slightly scary!) opportunity to serve as a Legal Fellow (on a pro bono basis) with International Justice Mission ("IJM") in Bangkok starting March 2020.
IJM is a Christian non-profit, non-governmental organisation whose mission is to end modern-day slavery and human trafficking globally. It does so by investigating situations with the assistance of local officials to free victims of human trafficking, assisting the prosecution of perpetrators in local court systems, providing aftercare support to victims, and empowering local communities to report and prevent future abuse.
I will be learning about international non-profit and advocacy work in addition to my responsibilities as a Legal Fellow, and have been challenged to raise funds of US$20,000 - US$25,000 to support my participation in this unpaid year abroad.
Please consider partnering with me in this! I am seeking a community of friends and family to support me both prayerfully and financially (only if you are able and willing to do so!)
As I prepare for, and embark on, this fellowship, I would love for you to keep me in prayer:
1) that God will keep my heart focused on Him;
2) that He will steady and grow my faith;
3) that I will not be disheartened by the things I will see in the course of my work; and
4) that God will continually remind me of His goodness and grace in the course of this year.
If you've made it to this page, thanks for your prayers and support in advance (:
