A PERMANENT HOME FOR THE SHALOM ANIMAL RESCUE CENTRE FURKIDDIES

Shalom Animal Rescue Centre was founded by Joan Nel in 2013. She saw that there was abandoned and neglected animals in Schweizer-reneke and surrounding areas (Wolmaransstad, Amalie, Bloemhof, Christiana, Vryburg, Mamusa, Delareyville, Taung, Warrenton)North West Province South Africa. With the nearest SPCA been 250 kilometers away Shalom Animal Rescue Centre been opened to assist the animals in need.

Joan and our team took it upon themselves to care for the animals but also feeding the feral colonies, the stray dogs and plus minus 300 Township animals. The township animals are fed, bathed, dipped, given medical care, bowls, fixing of there areas plus educating the owners of the importance of taking care of your pet and the importance of sterilisation.

We have lived on the premises we are at this very moment for a very long time But many times has not been pleasant cause we did not have the nicest of landlords who mad our lives miserable we would live on edge daily. The landlord is not an animal lover at all and gave us notice in order to put someone without animals in our place. We tried to find premises to rent but was fruitless. We came across a beautiful small holding up for sale with sufficient space for the animals and for us to stay on the premises with the animals. The small holding we have a option to rent to buy and that gives us enough time to raise enough funds to pay for this beautiful home the animals so deserve. With the current situation in the country and the economic crisis as well as not receiving funding from the present government we solely rely on public donations. We cannot turn our backs on the animals and forsake them. that is why we are pleading for help from you the public the help these voiceless ones have a permanent roof over the heads.

Presently in our care we have 77 dogs, 9 cats, 3 horses, 1 donkey, 3 chickens
