Campaign Story
A new leg for Harry. While Harry Ash is not a charity, he is the 13-year-old boy from Stroud who has just had his leg amputated above the knee in order to remove a malignant tumour. Without the operation, he would probably have died, however, this football-mad teenager is now coming to terms with having to use a prosthetic leg and/or a blade for the rest of his life.
Rather than succumbing to self-pity, Harry has already set his targets on the Paralympics in Rio in 2016, at least to watch if he hasn’t yet become skilful enough to compete. In order to achieve his (revised) dreams, Harry will need a very hi-tech prosthetic leg rather than the simple NHS model. These are extremely expensive (in the tens of thousands of pounds). Your support would help to raise the funds to allow him to get the best he can and to live as normal a life as possible.
