We are raising money to make a down payment to purchase a home for Wyatt.

Wyatt was born in June of 2011 with a sub-arachnoid cyst on the right side of his brain and an abnormal tissue growth in the back of his skull also on the right side.  His cerebral fluid did not drain on the right side as well.

At three months old Wyatt had his first surgery to remove the cyst.  A week later he was back in the hospital because of a build up of cerebral fluid.  The neurosurgeon told us that the mass in the back of his skull had already grown to the size of a handball and the surgery to remove the mass needed to be done sooner than expected.  There was a risk in doing this lengthy surgery while he was so young but there was also a risk in waiting.

Wyatt had the surgery to remove the mass on October 31, 2011 at three months old.  The mass was successfully removed and thank God it was benign.  When he came back to his room after the surgery he had blood in his stool.  The GI Dr. told us he had a condition called NEC where sections of the bowel die.  He was put on bowel rest and antibiotics for a few weeks.

This miracle child is a fighter and fought for his life with the help of the wonderful doctors and nurses in the PICU.  He was eventually moved out of the PICU and onto the floor where he continued to heal.  He could not eat any solid foods and was on a sterile formula only.  We were set to go home the day after Thanksgiving and we were all so thankful.  The day we were going home Wyatt developed a fever of 103 and laid lifeless in his crib.

He was taken for scans and tests which showed a problem with his appendix.  He was rushed off to surgery and when they opened him up his gut was full of puss and they found an abscess next to his appendix.  The abscess was cut out, his appendix was removed and his gut was flushed out.  It turned out that when he had the NEC there was a tear in his colon that let waste leak into his system which caused an infection.  His blood was septic and he was put on a course of very strong antibiotics.  We spent another month in the hospital.  Wyat had spent his first Haloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas in the hospital.

A few months after being home he had to go back for a MRI.  The MRI showed a build up of cerebral fluid and another cyst.  Wyatt was back in the hospital for another surgery to remove the cyst and needed a shunt placed in his head to drain the cerebral fluid.

Not long after this Wyatt was diagnosed with ITP, a condition of low blood platelets where the immune system attacks the platelets.  Wyatt did not respond to the ususal treatments for ITP and had to be admitted to the hospital evey three to four weeks to receive a medicine called IVIG to help boost his platelets.

Wyatt will be three in June of 2014 and he still has to go once a week for blood work and he gets a shot once a week of a drug called N-Plate that helps maintain his platelets.

Wyatt does not speak and was diagnosed in 2013 with autism.  He works with a group of wonderful therapists every week to help with his speech, development and motor skills.

I have had to quit my job since all of this has happened and I care for Wyatt full time.  His dad does everything in his power to provide for our family but we struggle to stay ahead of the bills like so many people.  We have moved three times since Wyatt was born and our dream is to be able to purchase a home where we can raise this very special boy.

We are trying to purchase a home but we need help for the downpayment.  One hundred percent of the money raised will go towards the downpayment on the home.  Our lease is up in May on the home we are renting now and unless we can make the downpayment by April on the home we want to buy we will have to move again.

Please help us make our dream come true so we can purchase a home to raise our son.  Thank you and God Bless!!
